Roofing Dumpster Rental
Norfolk VA

Sized for the Shingles. Priced for the Crew.

Roofing waste is heavy. Most companies don't price it right and most dumpsters aren't sized for it. We do both. Our roll-offs are built for asphalt shingle tear-offs, slate, metal panels, and roof deck debris.

Why Roofing Crews in Norfolk Book D.E.M.M.

Most roofing crews have one shot to get the job done before weather turns or the homeowner gets impatient. The dumpster either supports that or screws it up. We've worked the contractor side of jobs ourselves. We know what matters.

Sized Right for Tear-Offs

A standard 30-square asphalt roof produces about 4 tons of shingle waste. The 15-yard handles a 2,500 square foot roof. The 20-yard handles a 3,500 square foot roof. We size it right the first time so you're not paying for empty space or making a second call.

Honest Weight Pricing

Roofing debris is heavy and most companies bury overage fees in the fine print. We charge $0.07 per pound for what actually hits the scale at the landfill. No flat overage trap, no surprise bill at the end of the job.

Crew-Friendly Scheduling

Roof days move fast. We can usually do same-day or next-day. Need a swap-out mid-job because the bin filled before the tear-off finished? One call. We come back, swap it, you keep working.

Direct Contact, No Dispatch

You call, you get the owner. Same person who delivers the bin, places it on lawn protection if you ask, and pulls it when you're done. Roofing crews don't have time to chase a dispatch line.

What Size Dumpster for Your Roof?

Roof size determines dumpster size. Use this as a starting point, then call us to confirm. Norfolk roofs sit between 1,500 and 3,500 square feet on most residential homes, but we see plenty of outliers.

Roof Type Square Footage Recommended Size
Small repair / partial tear-off Up to 1,500 sq ft 10 Yard
Average residential roof 1,500 to 2,500 sq ft 15 Yard
Larger residential / light commercial 2,500 to 3,500 sq ft 20 Yard
Multi-roof or commercial job Over 3,500 sq ft Multiple Swap-Outs
Tearing off two layers? Add a size up. Two layers of asphalt nearly doubles the weight and volume. Same goes for slate or tile roofs. Call us before the tear-off and we'll help you size it right the first time.

Why no 13-yard trailer for roofing? Trailer sides aren't tall enough for efficient shingle loading. Roll-offs are the right call for roofing tear-offs. If you have a residential job that doesn't involve roofing and you need a trailer for tight access, call us and we'll talk it through.

⚠ Important Note for Older Norfolk Homes

Older Norfolk homes, especially in Ghent and Ocean View built before the 1980s, may have asbestos in original roofing felt or shingles. If there's any chance the roof has asbestos materials, do not load it.

Asbestos requires specialty hazmat disposal we don't run. Call us first at (757) 250-7356 and we'll point you to a licensed abatement contractor before the tear-off begins.

Roofing Dumpsters Across All of Norfolk

We deliver roofing dumpsters across all of Norfolk including Ocean View for waterfront roofs, Ghent for historic district renovations, Wards Corner for residential tear-offs, and Norfolk's commercial corridors. If your roofing job is outside Norfolk, we cover the rest of Hampton Roads too.

We do not service Hampton or the Peninsula. Roofing crews can't wait on tunnel traffic, so we don't promise what we can't reliably deliver.

Roofing Dumpster FAQs

Match dumpster size to roof square footage. A small repair under 1,500 sq ft fits a 10-yard. An average 2,000 to 2,500 sq ft Norfolk home roof needs a 15-yard. Larger homes around 3,500 sq ft need a 20-yard. If you're tearing off two layers of shingles, size up.

Asphalt shingles weigh roughly 250 pounds per square (a square is 100 square feet of roof). A typical 2,500 sq ft Norfolk roof produces about 6,250 pounds of shingle waste. Architectural shingles weigh more. We bill at $0.07 per pound, measured at the landfill, so heavier roofs cost more but you only pay for actual weight.

Starting prices: 10-yard at $350, 15-yard at $375, 20-yard at $395. Each price includes the dumpster for days 1 through 3. Days after that are $20 per day. Disposal weight is billed at $0.07 per pound. For a typical roofing job, expect the disposal portion to add $400 to $700 to the base rental depending on roof size and material.

Yes. Most roofing crews want it on the driveway closest to the tear-off zone. Tell us where to place it during booking. We can also drop on lawn boards if you need it on grass.

Don't load it. Call us first. Older Norfolk homes built before the 1980s sometimes have asbestos in roofing materials. Asbestos requires specialty hazmat disposal that we don't handle. We can refer you to a contractor who does. Call (757) 250-7356 to check.
